  • Affordable homes building begins at London regeneration scheme  - 20/08/2010 News

    Building work has begun to create 30 new homes for shared ownership at the Beavers Lane regeneration project in Hounslow, west London. The £4.4 million development from housing provider A2Dominion forms part of a wider regeneration project on the site. The first phase of 23 homes for shared ownership (part-buy part-rent) is due to complete in summer 2011, whilst the second phase of a further seven shared ownership apartments is set to be finished early 2012.

  • £50m regeneration community project impresses in industry awards  - 26/07/2010 News

    An A2Dominion community project in Surrey, which involved 900 people taking part in a raft of activities and included the making of a street art mural, film and book, has been shortlisted for a second award. The Stanwell Project, organised as part of a £50 million regeneration scheme in the borough of Spelthorne, is in the running to be hailed Best Community Initiative at the high-profile Housebuilder Awards 2010. It has already been named runner-up at the National Housing Federation’s What We Are Proud Of Awards 2010.

  • First homes completed at £31m development in Stanmore, North West London  - 08/07/2010 News

    The first affordable houses being built as part of a £31 million development in Stanmore, North West London, have now been completed. The site of the former DVLA offices, a 15 acre site in Honeypot Lane, is being transformed through the creation of hundreds of new homes and commercial space. A2Dominion, a not-for-profit housing provider, is providing 200 affordable houses and apartments on the site, with St Edward Homes, a joint venture between Prudential and the Berkeley Group, building over 500 private sale homes. There will also be 740 parking spaces.

  • Affordable Development Launches in East London  - 28/06/2010 Application

    A2Dominion New Homes has launched a £4.7m development in east London, providing 21 new affordable homes. Frances Wharf, in Burdett Road, Limehouse, is a high specification apartment building sitting alongside the Limehouse Cut Canal. It features a range of one, two and three-bedroom apartments. Seven are for shared ownership sale, with 14 for affordable rent. A2Dominion has worked on the scheme with the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, contractor London and Limehouse Developments, Carey Jones Architects and employer’s agent John Rowan & Partners.

  • CEO Gets Stuck in with Volunteer Project  - 01/06/2010 News

    A2Dominion’s Chief Executive rolled up his sleeves to help decorate a residents’ home as part of the Group’s new staff volunteering initiative. CEO Darrell Mercer’s visit to 82-year-old resident John Malley’s home in Ealing, west London, is part of a new drive to get more employees to start volunteering. The housing provider is offering employees up to two days extra annual leave a year or flexible working hours if they use the time to volunteer in a community or charitable project.

    Housing provider A2Dominion impressed the judges with an unusual scheme in Oxford to win a prestigious First Time Buyer award, hosted by Phil Spencer of Channel 4’s Location, Location, Location.   • New affordable homes planned for prime South West London site  - 29/03/2010 News

    A £10.2 million scheme will see new affordable homes built on a site previously home to South Thames College in Putney. A2Dominion, an award-winning housing provider, is creating a mixture of one and two bedroom apartments for shared ownership sale as part of the Barratt West London development in sought-after Putney Hill.     Builders are soon to start work on a £50 million regeneration project for a run-down estate in Surrey. Construction of the first phase of the Stanwell New Start regeneration scheme, due to begin next month (February), will see a total of 52 new homes built.     The third and final phase of a landmark affordable housing development in Hampshire is now being launched. Transforming a former industrial site, the Avia development in Farnborough features a total of 71 new homes for shared ownership, available from A2Dominion New Homes. The last phase of the scheme, consisting of 27 one and two bedroom apartments, goes on sale this Saturday (January 23, 2010). The price of a one-bedroom home starts at just £54,000 for 40 per cent share, while a two bedroom apartment costs from £66,800 for 40 per cent share.

People turned out for the opening of Canada House in Redhill, where the first of more than 200 modern rooms are now available for rent for key worker healthcare staff.     School children in Oxford have helped to pick the name for an important new £4.9m development which is bringing affordable housing to the city centre. Cutteslowe Primary School pupils took part in workshops to learn about the local area’s wildlife and history before putting forward their suggestions of fitting names for the development. Meadow Gardens has now finally been selected as the name of the 30-home scheme being built in Jackson Road by not-for-profit housing provider A2Dominion. The other shortlisted suggestions were Meadow Mews and Spring Gardens.

    Construction work has started on a £42 million scheme to create more than 200 new homes on a former factory site in west London. The Lascar Works site, in Staines Road, Hounslow, is set to be transformed with a mix of homes for affordable rent, shared ownership and outright sale. The 6.5 acre plot of land was previously home to the firm Beldam Lascar Seals Ltd.
