ABET Wood is a new Collection of real wood finishes encapsulated into high pressure laminate. It has been launched by the international laminate manufacturer ABET LAMINATI. The Collection comprises 22 variations including six natural wood finishes, such as maple, ash, mahogany and cherry and 16 reconstituted finishes which include rosewood, zebrano and wenge.

Obeflex real high pressure laminate, exclusively distributed in the UK by Abet Ltd, has made a great impact at the Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library in Norwich. As part of an expansion programme in 2009 to create more public space, the Obersound 5.5 acoustic panelling has been used to clad the walls of the enlarged area. This complements the Obersound originally used in the library’s construction in 2001. Obersound 5.5 is a collection of compact grade self-supporting high pressure laminate created by consultancy 5.5 Designers. Obersound is supplied as completed ready-to-use panels which have been covered with a real wood veneer from PEFC managed sources.

Obeflex real veneer high pressure laminate, exclusively distributed in the UK by Abet Ltd, has launched a striking new 18-strong collection called Chic & Pop. High pressure laminates from ABET LAMINATI are being used throughout the eye-catching new Planet Hollywood restaurant in the Haymarket, London. This stunning venue which opened in June 2009 was designed by The Manser Practice and furnished from wall to wall by RHA furniture who specified ABET LAMINATI’s Legni woodgrains on many interior finishes.

Specially designed digitally printed high pressure laminates from ABET LAMINATI are being used for the innovative new ‘Curiosity’ interactive exhibition at Bristol’s City Museum and Art Gallery. ‘Curiosity’, a mini-museum for the Under-7s, is a fascinating interactive play space based around many different activities. Features such as the ‘crystal cave’, where stories can be told, the stage surround, where children can put on puppet shows, and the ‘animuddle’ game are all created using Abet’s Digital Print technology.

ABET LAMINATI has launched a completely new Cubicle range from its range of high pressure laminate. The laminate is either supplied directly as sheets or as completed units when working in conjunction with cubicle manufacturers such as Formwise Washrooms and Crawford Integrated Systems. The Collection is available in 34 plain colours, 6 woodgrains and complementary speckle effects in laminate specially selected for applications in areas of heavy usage or vandalism.

Kaleidos is a new range of laminates recently launched in the UK by ABET LAMINATI. The first application is in the reception area at Leeds University where the main reception desk is clad with Shards 879 from the Kaleidos range. The charcoal grey cladding was specified by Works Architecture and features an innovative LED illuminated glass top designed by Ardent Products. Kaleidos is the latest innovative and visually stimulating range from ABET LAMINATI.

ABET LAMINATI has recently supplied a selection of high pressure laminates for the new concept Little Chef refurbishment in Popham designed by Ab Rogers Design. These comprise four different shades of warm red from the Abet’s comprehensive Colours collection. The laminates have been used throughout the restaurant on the table tops and features in order to add dramatic colour and vibrancy to the interior, to complement the furniture and to provide a contrast with the sky blue ceiling, floor and counter fronts.

Stratificato solid core high pressure laminate from ABET LAMINATI has been used for the bases for new Richard Rogers exhibition - ‘From the House to the City’ recently on display at the Design Museum in London. The exhibition, which celebrates Lord Rogers’ work, was designed by Ab Rogers Design and the Stratificato was used in several plain colours to help differentiate between the various architecturally-themed areas. Stratificato is perfect for this kind of application where a combination of heavy duty and high performance surface is needed with a strong, self-supporting core.

Magnetico magnetic high pressure laminate and a selection of plain colours in different finishes and textures have been supplied by ABET LAMINATI for use on an interactive ‘art cart’ at the National Museum of Scotland. The mobile cart was developed and designed by National Museums Scotland’s design team. Currently sited in the National Museum’s main hall, it houses a selection of children’s activities including activity trails, sketchbooks, zoetrope strips to create animations and “Colour me in” sheets with objects from the collections.

Oberflex real wood veneer high pressure laminate is a feature of the newly redesigned and refurbished Etsu cafe at London’s Marylebone Station. Oberflex is exclusively supplied in the UK by Abet Ltd. Designed and specified by West One Strategy Ltd, the new scheme uses Spiced Wood Pepper from the Oberflex Olympics range, on the fronts of the serving counters. This heavy duty location demanded a surface material which would not only look visually strong and appealing but which would also withstand being kicked and scuffed by customers.

Several new Collections of laminate for Architects and Designers, including new Serigrafia 2008 designs created by renowned Italian designer Paola Navone, have been introduced by Abet. These were recently launched at the IOD together with the entire new collection from Abet Laminati. The new Serigrafia laminates comprise 16 visually exciting and different textured silk-screened designs inspired by nature, ranging from dandelions and other flowers through to rose petals and leaves.

Abet’s MEG collection of exterior grade laminate has been extended to embrace a new raft of new colours, styles and finishes. MEG is a self-supporting high pressure laminate (HPL) for cladding the exterior of buildings, balconies and other applications.

Bath’s Café Cadbury coffee and retail shop has been fitted out with metallic copper laminate from Abet’s Serie Metalli Collection. The three-storey cafe in Bath specialises in drinking chocolate but also serves tea, coffee and meals as well as having a chocolate takeaway and retail section. Abet’s Serie Metalli copper laminate was used for the wall displays and shelving in order to complement the woodwork of the units and freestanding displays and to provide a warm and welcoming feel to this “chocolate haven”.

High pressure laminate from ABET’s Colours Collections have been used throughout the Exploring Space Gallery of the Science Museum in London. The ‘Blu Tenebre’ laminate is used for the plinths and display stands throughout the ‘Exploring Space’ exhibits in the Exploring Space Gallery and forms an integral part of the display showing space rockets, modules and satellites used for deep space exploration in a celebration of 45 years since the launch of the first UK satellite.

The first high pressure laminate (HPL) to have a high gloss surface has been launched by Abet on the UK market. HR LAQ is a Collection of high gloss surface laminates with very high resistance to scratching, wear and abrasion. Horizontal Grade Standard (HGS) laminate provides the designer with a choice of 24 bold and bright colours.

Several styles, colours and finishes including plain colours, metallic and wood grains are being used in the ongoing refurbishment of Marks & Spencer stores throughout the country.

The new Pizza Express restaurant in Manchester's Trafford Centre is featuring Abet's striking and popular Legni collection of woodgrains.

High pressure laminate from Abet's new Silver collection has been used to great effect at the JOY homewares and fashion retail store in Norwich. The store is the first of a planned roll-out across the South East of England and Abet's Silver 2705 laminate has been used on the changing room doors and shelves throughout the store.

Oberflex Real Wood Laminate has been used extensively throughout the refurbished headquarters of drinks manufacturer Orangina in the South of France. Oberflex is exclusively available in the UK from Abet Ltd.

In association with a major Italian car manufacturer, the recent Frankfurt Motor Show was a high profile showcase for Abet's new Metalprint high pressure laminate Collection. Several styles from the Collection in the 'Bubble' design were used on the floor of the stand, helping to create an ultra-modern stage on which to display their latest cars.

Different Images using Digital Print technology from Abet Ltd have been used in a pilot scheme for McDonalds in Liverpool. The Digital Print system used an electronic method of reproduction together with inkjet technology to obtain high definition printing including tones and shades.

Abet's Serie Metalli 873 high pressure laminate in now appearing regularly on television. The laminate, with a satinata finish, is used to clad the fascias of the curved bar and columns which features in a popular Channel 4 television soap opera.
