  • Survey names Minster as Yorkshire’s favourite  - 25/01/2010 News

A recent survey carried out by Yorkshire architects, Above & Beyond, named York Minster as the region’s most iconic building. Participants voted for buildings from a list complied by the Above & Beyond team comprising ten of Yorkshire’s most architecturally outstanding buildings, as a celebration of the practice’s tenth birthday. York’s classic Gothic cathedral came a clear first with The Victorian built Corn Exchange in Leeds second and at the other end of the spectrum the ultra modern Yorkshire Sculpture Park in Wakefield following in third position.

  • Transformation of Care Centre is Above & Beyond Expectation  - 01/07/2009 Application

Above & Beyond Architectural practice has been instrumental in the transformation of a dilapidated former nursing home in Winsford, Cheshire. The centre has opened its doors for the first time in almost a decade after being fully restored. Elmhurst, on Roehurst Lane, closed in 2000 and fell into disrepair after becoming target for vandals and arsonists. In July 2008, Above & Beyond was commissioned by lead consultant Operon to provide technical and design services in the refurbish of the derelict building turning it into a state of the art modern care facility.
